The 30-minute version of The Women in Security Documentary (TWISD30) will be featured at this special event brings together leaders from government, cybersecurity, defence, technology, academia, and public policy for candid conversations on the evolving threats, leadership challenges, and resilience shaping Canada’s security future.
What began in Chicago on July 17, 2025 as a single evening event quickly revealed itself to be something far greater. From the very first screening, it was clear that this was not simply a film premiere. It was the beginning of a movement.
That opening night sparked immediate conversation, connection, and reflection. Audience members remained long after the credits rolled, sharing personal experiences, professional insights, and heartfelt appreciation for a story that, for far too long, had gone untold. There was an undeniable sense that something meaningful had been set in motion.
As the documentary traveled from city to city, that momentum only continued to grow. Each screening became far more than a presentation. It became a gathering place. Across theaters, conferences, universities, and international venues, audiences consistently described the experience as inspiring, validating, empowering, and deeply unifying. Professionals from cybersecurity, physical security, intelligence, investigations, law enforcement, and risk management came together alongside students, educators, and emerging leaders, all recognizing pieces of themselves within the stories being shared.
What unfolded after many screenings became just as important as the film itself. Q&A sessions evolved into passionate and meaningful discussions. Networking transformed into genuine connection. New relationships were formed, collaborations were inspired, and countless attendees expressed gratitude for finally seeing the experiences, challenges, achievements, and contributions of women in security represented on screen with honesty and heart.
With every stop, The Women In Security Documentary strengthened its role not only as a film, but as a catalyst for dialogue, visibility, mentorship, and change.
That journey reached another defining milestone with a powerful two-night presentation during RSAC 2026 in San Francisco on March 24 and 25, 2026. Surrounded by one of the world’s most influential cybersecurity gatherings, the film once again inspired highly engaged audiences who remained long after the final frame for open discussion, shared insight, emotional reflection, and community connection. The response in San Francisco reinforced what audiences around the world had already begun to demonstrate: this story resonates far beyond any single industry, city, or event.
And the journey continues to expand.
Following San Francisco, additional screenings of the full-length feature were presented in Austin on April 2, 2026 and Toronto on April 8, 2026, while the Amazon WWOS-sponsored TWISD30, a recently crafted 30-minute version, continued reaching new audiences through conferences, educational programs, and special presentations. The story is undeniable. The Women In Security Documentary has evolved from a premiere into a growing international movement, bringing people together, elevating voices, encouraging meaningful dialogue, and leaving a lasting impression in every city it touches.
And this is only the beginning.
More screenings, presentations, partnerships, and conversations are already ahead as TWISD and TWISD30 continue their journey to cities around the globe.
