A Year of Impact — And a Powerful Start to What’s Ahead
As we begin 2026, Resilient Features is proud to reflect on an extraordinary year for The WOMEN IN SECURITY Documentary—and to celebrate the momentum carrying the film into the new year.
What began as a documentary has become a shared experience and a catalyst for connection, dialogue, and recognition across the global security community. Throughout 2025, the film reached audiences nationwide through screenings, conferences, and community-driven events—each reinforcing the importance of these stories and the conversations they spark.
Award-Winning Recognition in 2025
In October 2025, the film received two of the highest honors at the New York Film Awards:
• 🥇 Best Documentary — Director Yvette Freeman
• 🥇 Best Editing — Kyle Lawrence Wright
These wins followed a strong festival run that included Best Documentary Feature (Oniros Film Awards, New York), Honorable Mention — Best Producer, Honorable Mention — Best Director (Feature) (Los Angeles Film Awards), and a Jury Award nomination at the upcoming Atlanta Spotlight Film Festival.
Together, these recognitions underscore the film’s impact in amplifying women’s voices, advancing inclusion, and redefining leadership in security.
Screenings That Became Community Gatherings
That recognition mirrors what we experienced at screenings in Chicago, San Diego, New Orleans (GSX), Seattle, Atlanta, Anaheim, and Jacksonville. Across every city, audiences described the film as powerful, authentic, eye-opening, long overdue, and essential viewing—with conversations continuing well beyond the credits.
These events were made possible by our film sponsors—Amazon Worldwide Operations Security, Pinkerton, Sysdig, Sentra, and ASIS International—and by an exceptional network of venue sponsors and local chapter partners whose leadership elevated each screening into something far more than a night at the movies.
